This is the start of the four years which form the Upper School.
In Years 3 and 4 there is a big push on reading comprehension and fluency and children’s writing and maths skills develop very quickly. With strong basic skills in place the children can really make the most of all the other subjects on offer. Through our flexible and creative curriculum children are able to immerse themselves in fun and engaging topics. We look for more independent learning and self-organisation. There is plenty of practical work, questioning and formulating of experiments and an appreciation of current affairs is encouraged.
Specialist input continues and in sport children are taught specific skills as well as getting the opportunity to enjoy playing in school teams; we build the children’s stamina in every way.
