The Carrdus Distance Learning Programme has been a great success this term! Every day, innovative and inspiring live lessons have provided an opportunity for children to interact with their teachers, collaborate with their peers and continue to have a personalised, rich and varied curriculum. Live lessons have been a fundamental part of the Carrdus Distance Learning Programme and the considerable amount of teacher-pupil contact throughout the day has ensured academic progress. Alongside live lessons, there have been opportunities for children to develop curiosity and learn independently through carefully selected tasks set by teachers.
In the Lower School, classes have developed their independence and resilience with using technology through navigating several sites including OneNote, Nessy Reading and Spelling and Active Learn. Children have enjoyed taking part in engaging practical activities such as science experiments, dress up days and a morning of Outdoor Learning fun!
Children in the Upper School received extensive training in school to ensure they were independently able to use Microsoft Office Applications and access their virtual classrooms. Through OneNote and Teams, children have received high-quality, interactive tasks and regular personalised feedback as they would in the physical classroom.
The Carrdus Distance Learning programme has balanced academic study and social interaction. Staff have paid close attention to children's social, emotional, creative, physical, and cultural needs, providing an opportunity for weekly participation in 'Friday Fun' sessions and safe online opportunities for social interaction.
